The former alumni association has been dissolved after a two-year legal fight that has left alumni smarting.  Bethune-Cookman University and its former alumni association recently reached a settlement disbanding the association after the Florida institution sued the alumni group for trademark infringement and “deceptive and unfair trade practices,” among other claims.

Clemson University’s lawsuit is the latest move in a broader realignment of high-powered athletic conferences, which could carry implications far beyond who wins and loses on the field.
