In October, the National Student Clearinghouse reported that first-year enrollment fell by 5 percent. Now, citing a research error, they say it actually increased. In October, the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center released its annual preliminary “Stay Informed” enrollment report, which proclaimed that first-year college enrollments had fallen by 5 percent from fall 2023 to fall 2024. That would have signified the largest decline since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Congressional Republicans have reintroduced legislation that would prohibit transgender girls and women from playing on school and college sports teams that align with their gender identity.
